About This Blog

Food is one of the most universal languages we have. It nourishes us, comforts us, and connects us across cultures. But food is also history. It carries the stories of families, the resilience of communities, and the struggles of nations. Behind every traditional dish, there are layers of memory, identity, and survival.
I started this blog because I realized something important: many of my peers — and people in general — don’t always engage with the news or long articles about the political climate. The headlines feel overwhelming. The stories feel distant. But when you put those same struggles in the context of food — the meal on someone’s table, the dish passed down through generations — suddenly, it becomes personal. Suddenly, we begin to see the humanity behind the statistics.
This project is not about bragging over food or recipes. It is about highlighting culture, preserving history, and bringing awareness to global conflicts in a way that feels accessible and real. A bowl of soup can tell you about war. A piece of bread can remind you of resilience. A shared recipe can spark compassion across borders.
Around the world right now, millions are facing famine, displacement, and violence. From Sudan to Palestine, from Afghanistan to the Congo, families are fighting not only to keep their traditions alive but to survive another day. The dishes I share here are not just recipes — they are entry points into larger stories about injustice, survival, and hope.
My mission is simple:
  • To educate through food by connecting traditional recipes to the crises unfolding around them.
  • To encourage compassion by reminding us that every meal we share is a privilege not everyone has.
  • To inspire action by providing resources, donation links, and ways to stand in solidarity.
Staying aware of the political climate is not just for policymakers or activists — it is for all of us. Because awareness is the first step toward empathy, and empathy is the first step toward change.
So, as you browse this blog, I invite you to cook with purpose. Let each recipe not only nourish your body but also remind you of the people who created it, often under unimaginable circumstances. Share a meal. Start a conversation. And let’s use food as a tool for awareness, solidarity, and hope.
